Sildir's Divine Sense found six undead outside but nothing on Vasili; the group evacuated Fiona, the Wachter children, and staff through windows while six vampire-spawn assassins breached the house. Split chases ended at St. Andral's Church—hallowed grounds blocked pursuers; Dr. Rudolph van Richten stepped out and vanished after a scuffle left three dead assassins and a note: "Bring her and return to the lake."
