00:16 [DM (Aarya)] Okay, so we already established how the party all knows each other, so just to really quickly touch on that, is everyone familiar with what we decided on, or do we want to recap?

01:00 [Sildir (Tris)] Yeah, all right, so, um, well Rod's character I don't know. Rod we're gonna be introduced to somehow, right? But for Ember, I'm assuming that's Dorothy's character, right?

It's because when she kind of got in trouble and went through the whole issue of accidentally killing a young prince next in line to the throne, heir to the throne of the kingdom that she's in, she ended up on the same boat, a boat that I owned, that I would assume that Mercurio and Saturno were on. And as part of trying to clean up my past, clean up my sins, clean up my negligence, not only did I take up the boat's captain, put a cease to that business of human trafficking that I had been renting these boats out for unknowingly, I also took it upon myself to use my wealth to either buy freedom for these people or free them manually with violence.

If anyone wants to correct me at any point to jump in, but yeah, for Iridell, Iridell is my estates, taxes, accounting, she does a lot of stuff for me. But, you know, mainly, you know, I know her through that relationship, but we got a little bit closer, I would say, as I procured her services to take a deeper look at my books to see where my irresponsibilities were occurring.
01:24 [Sildir (Tris)] Therefore, I could go root them out myself and bring justice to those who would misuse my investment behind my back. So that's run down how I know everybody, I think.
03:31 [DM (Aarya)] Okay. I think that's pretty comprehensive. And I expect that you guys will repeat your own backstories and interactions as we go along.

03:31 [DM (Aarya)] Without further ado, we'll go ahead and start. So, you, the players, find yourselves as a party wandering into the town of Daggerford together. I'll go ahead and reread the blurb that I posted for your adventure hook.

04:12 [DM (Aarya)] Yeah, I'll repost it. Let me copy it. Okay.

04:28 [DM (Aarya)] It's the evening before high harvest tide, and a storm has descended over Daggerford, with dark clouds pouring cascades of rain down upon the town below. Despite the weather, however, the town buzzes with anticipation of the impending falltime festival, each home filled with warmth and joy. Bright cheery candlelight twinkles from every window, and the sounds of song and dance echo throughout the wet, muddy streets.
04:28 [DM (Aarya)] Amidst the merriment, however, you stand apart, neither locals nor visitors. You're vagabonds, travelers and ghosts passing through an unfamiliar town. As laughter rings out from the inns and homes, you face a simpler, starker dilemma.
04:28 [DM (Aarya)] The quest for shelter. Every room in this town is claimed, every hearth filled to bursting, leaving you in the grip of the bitter storm. Until, that is, the owner of the ramshackle Nightmare's Bridal Tavern offers you a grudging reprieve, the hayloft above their stable.
04:28 [DM (Aarya)] It's nothing to boast about, leaving the biting cold and lingering scent of musty hay as your only companions, but it's a roof over your heads nonetheless, a small mercy on a night such as this. One by one, you find a home amidst the muck and hay. Overhead, rain lashes the stable, thunder punctuating the rhythmic drumming on the roof.
04:28 [DM (Aarya)] Flashes of lightning lance across the skies, casting the stable's interior in stark lights and darks. Rainwater drips steadily down through a leak in the roof, snaking its way along the floor until it pools in the corner. Here then, you find yourselves, huddled in the darkness amongst yourselves while joy and mirth dance just out of reach.
04:28 [DM (Aarya)] So at this point, I'm going to let you all go around and describe your characters and what you might be doing while you're all huddled in the darkness. So yeah, whoever would like to go first.
06:19 [Sildir (Tris)] I've got a quick question though, did we kind of like, happen to all end up in this scenario? It's like an extreme coincidence that we're all here, or were we traveling into this festival together?
06:30 [DM (Aarya)] So the bulk of you have been traveling together, five of you. Everyone saved Celilus, and you all managed to find your way into the hayloft, and Celilus individually found himself in the same circumstance, and by coincidence, you are all together now in the hayloft together.
06:48 [Sildir (Tris)] Okay, got it. So you would see me as an older half-elf in pretty ornate looking armor. You can tell it's still just chain mail, but I did put my customizations on it.
06:48 [Sildir (Tris)] I wanted it to look good, and I had the money to do so. So I'll be looking into the rain kind of pensively while trying to wring out my longer hair. And I won't say anything just yet to allow other people to intro.
07:26 [Saturno (Steph)] I would say Saturno cast a cantrip, cast light, cast a bright 20-foot radius within the room just so that we could see. And then I... Oh, that's really big.
07:26 [Saturno (Steph)] If I put it down, I hope that's okay. And then I say, Mercurio, are you sure you're okay in these conditions? As I hold my cape up, covering their head from the dripping water.
07:56 [DM (Aarya)] Also, really quick, can you describe to us what Saturno looks like?
08:01 [Saturno (Steph)] Saturno is like, I want to say she's like 5'2". She's roughly 30 years old. She's a knight.
08:01 [Saturno (Steph)] I know if you look at my picture, you see like something else that's going to be like my... I forgot what it is called, if you could help me here. It's my echo.

08:25 [Saturno (Steph)] It's my stand. I get to summon it as I fight, but they're not currently with us at the moment. But I can summon them.
08:25 [Saturno (Steph)] Their name is Memphis. And yeah, I do have a sword. I'm decked out in armor and I have a nice little cape.
08:25 [Saturno (Steph)] And I am pretty serious, or at least I try to be as I've trained to be a knight. And I have trained alongside to become, to protect like Mercurio and their family. So, but I, you know, I'm still young.
08:25 [Saturno (Steph)] Oh, and I'm in, wait, I am in, I'm Asamir? Asamar. Asamar.
08:25 [Saturno (Steph)] Yeah.
09:17 [DM (Aarya)] Yes. Cool. So you say something to Mercurio?
09:23 [Saturno (Steph)] I'm like, are you okay, Mercurio? In these conditions, I hold my cape like over them and I cast the light so that we could all see.
09:36 [Mercurio (Gui)] I'm fine, but it's just, it's just so drab that fate would bring six friends together for not a night of wonderful drinking while all this party goes on outside.
09:52 [Saturno (Steph)] That is true. Hopefully we all drink soon. That'd be nice.

10:17 [DM (Aarya)] Really quick. Exactly, there you go. Really quick, can Mercurio describe themselves for the party?
10:25 [Mercurio (Gui)] Yeah, so Mercurio is a Asamar with like blonde hair and blue eyes, a very dapper mustache, very, you could tell like very well done hair. It was probably like, it was probably very well kept and gelled until he stepped outside to go like walk through the rain to get a drink. And he's got like very dapper clothes on, but his like pink outer suit jacket is probably like soaked from throwing it over his head to use as a raincoat.
10:25 [Mercurio (Gui)] And he just sits there in the room, taking a sip of his drink and fiddling with his loot, kind of looking around the group in anticipation that we'll go do something more exciting.
11:28 [Saturno (Steph)] I'd say Saturno is also standing kind of like at attention, but is also bored. So not, you know, trying to keep it at attention, but fiddling, you know.
11:40 [DM (Aarya)] The soldier's discipline.
11:43 [Saturno (Steph)] Yeah, it's rough.
11:46 [Mercurio (Gui)] So what do you say and I look over to Iridel, is it, do we have money in the books then for a round of drinks?
11:58 [Irredel (Sav)] Well, we do have money in the books for a round of drinks. I, however, don't think most of us have the fortitude to step out in that awful rain again and you can see Iridel is, you know, maybe shaking some water out of her ear and pulling dark, slightly wavy hair into a very severe practical bun, shaking out her plain gray wool coat. At the very least, as for myself, I just don't think I want to go back out there.
11:58 [Irredel (Sav)] It's kind of disgusting up here, but it seems much worse out there. And if there were no room for us anywhere else, I don't think there's going to be a table for us to get anything to drink.

You're not entirely certain what it is yet, but you are certain that it is not human or elf or any, as you would say, civilized race. But it has led you to this town, which, much to your displeasure, is quite packed and rowdy.

18:00 [Sildir (Tris)] I have been tracking some kind of otherworldly creature. Not human. I don't know what it is, but...
18:00 [Sildir (Tris)] It led me to this town, but unfortunately, the weather and this event that is happening has been a blockade for me.

18:25 [Ember (Spurthi)] Ember is a tall human female and she has a sari draped around her front. It's not much that protects her from the cold because that's why she's shivering. She has a light crossbow and two daggers and a mechanical arm.
18:25 [Ember (Spurthi)] And her hair is tied up in a bun.
18:51 [DM (Aarya)] So her mechanical arm, is it her left, right arm?
18:55 [Ember (Spurthi)] Left arm.
18:56 [DM (Aarya)] Okay, cool.

19:07 [Irredel (Sav)] And I would like to say that once Iridel notices Ember's shivering, that she reaches into her pack at her side and throws a very drab pair of socks. Plain wool, no embellishments, Ember's way. Doesn't say anything, just tosses the sock.

23:32 [DM (Aarya)] And as you say that, you hear a searing bolt of lightning rend the sky, illuminating the evening in a blinding flash of stark white. The booming thunder that follows is so loud that it shakes the very ground beneath you, causing timbers of the stable to creak and groan. The light of the strike lingers unnaturally, silhouetting small wisps of fog that twist through the air.
23:32 [DM (Aarya)] A thick, ankle-deep mist gathers outside, shrouding the earth in a ghostly veil and its tendrils curl invitingly, as though beckoning you into the darkness beyond. The rain continues to pelt the roof above, but the wind no longer howls, and the merry sounds of Daggerford's festivities seem muted and distant. The horses in the stable beneath stir uneasily, their whinnies echoing loudly in the stillness.
23:32 [DM (Aarya)] An uneasy feeling sweeps through the hayloft, and a cold shiver that has nothing to do with wind or rain. And right as that happens, each of you, I believe, are carrying some kind of mysterious relic on you, and you all notice them start to react in a certain way. Syllabus, let's see.
23:32 [DM (Aarya)] Actually, let's not start with you. We'll start with Iridel. You have the Sunrise Medallion, right?
24:55 [Irredel (Sav)] Yes, I think so.
24:57 [DM (Aarya)] So, you notice that your medallion starts shining with a warm golden glow, emitting rays of bright light pointing in a certain direction ahead of you. And at the same time, let's see. Ember, your broken blade that you're carrying, starts emitting a high-pitched hum and begins trembling violently.
24:57 [DM (Aarya)] You see it spin around in front of you like a compass needle, and it eventually settles and points in the same direction as the rays of light from Iridel's medallion. Saturno, your wolf's tooth that you're carrying, you see it lengthen and start glowing with silver moonlight. The cord that it's hanging on starts tugging you in the same direction that the other two are pointing in.
24:57 [DM (Aarya)] And let's see.
25:53 [Sildir (Tris)] I have the Angel's Feather, I think.
25:54 [DM (Aarya)] Yeah, you have the Angel's Feather. Mercurio has the scarf, that's correct?
26:00 [Mercurio (Gui)] Yeah, and I have the scarf kind of tucked like a tie, like an ascot.
26:06 [DM (Aarya)] You see the scarf, the knot on it mysteriously comes undone, and it's swept away by a breeze that sweeps through the barn. At the same moment, the Raven's Feather that is carried by... Okay, it says...
26:06 [DM (Aarya)] Sildur has the Raven's Feather. Can I try to grab it if I'm fast enough?
26:30 [Sildir (Tris)] Oh, I have the Raven's Feather, okay.
26:31 [DM (Aarya)] Give me a sec, really quick. But yeah, you can try. So, Sildur has the Raven's Feather, and Siloes has the Angel's Feather.
26:31 [DM (Aarya)] So, the three of you, your feathers and the scarf are swept away by the breeze and are carried away out through the window.

26:54 [DM (Aarya)] And Saturna, you were trying to grab the scarf, you said?
26:56 [Saturno (Steph)] Yes, just so that we don't lose it. Okay, give me...
27:01 [DM (Aarya)] I'll say you can do a dex or maybe sleight of hand if you want to try to grab it out of here.

And so, three of you just had your relics swept away by the wind, and the other three, your relics, are mysteriously active and pointing in the same direction. They appear to be leading you out of the barn.

27:51 [DM (Aarya)] To your knowledge, they have never been magical or behaved in this way ever before.

28:04 [Ember (Spurthi)] And Saturna's hand grazed the scarf for the ascot. Can I use my sleight of hand to grab it?

28:20 [DM (Aarya)] Unfortunately, it completely slips your hand entirely, so you weren't able to grab onto it. Okay. I say, fuck.

28:32 [Sildir (Tris)] Do I feel like I could, like, go out and, like, get them? Or does it seem like they're just gone?
28:37 [DM (Aarya)] You do feel like you... They weren't, like, swept away, like, super quickly or anything. They just kind of, like, were carried away by the breeze and you were simply stunned to see it happen.
28:37 [DM (Aarya)] You can venture out into the rain to try to catch them. Does anyone react to the other three relics mysteriously coming active and pointing in the same direction?
28:56 [Sylalys (Cat)] Yeah.
28:59 [Irredel (Sav)] Oh, I just want to, like, inspect the medallion and see if it's a sign of, like, the deity I followed here or, like, something else. Like, can I just get, like, a vibe check on it?
29:09 [DM (Aarya)] Yeah, you can do... I'll say you can do religion, I think.
29:16 [Saturno (Steph)] So, for contact...
29:21 [DM (Aarya)] So, with a 17, you are quite certain that this is not related to any divine interference or power.
29:32 [Irredel (Sav)] Well, folks, this isn't related to any divine interference or power, and I don't think I want to investigate further. She throws her cloak over her head and just kind of huddles more against the wall. I'm staying put.
29:44 [Mercurio (Gui)] Her curio, like, didn't react at first. He seems a little tired, maybe a little drunk. But as soon as he kind of, like, has his delayed reaction to what's happened, he's going to immediately try to go after the scarf.

The centerpiece of this imposing facade is the portico, a stone arch standing sentinel before the house's oaken doors. A wrought iron gate fills this arch, its rusty hinges creaking as it sways in the wind.
34:49 [DM (Aarya)] On either side of the gate, oil lamps hang from chains, their light dim and flickering, casting a sickly glow that barely pierces the surrounding fog. Beyond the gate, a set of sturdy oaken doors stand closed, framed by the gate and the lamps. The doors are old and weathered, their wood darkened by time, but they stand strong and proud, an unwelcome entrance into the house beyond.

01:33:34 [DM (Aarya)] this is the first time you've seen a piece like this, I don't know that you've played many waltzes before, but this does seem to come pretty naturally to you as you press your fingers to the keys, you hear the notes echo, a haunting melody fills the quiet, dusty room as you continue to play the music seems to take a life of its own your own hands moving across the keys unbidden, as if guided by an unseen force from the edges of the room spectral figures begin to materialize spinning and weaving in a ghostly dance as though led by the song most are unfamiliar to you but you recognize two elizabeth durst in the corner, watching gustav's apparition dancing with a beautiful young woman wearing humble clothes the eyes of elizabeth's apparition narrow into a cold furious stare, the dancers pay her little heed however, the song growing faster as the spirits whirl to the rhythm of the harpsichord's crescendo with a swift movement elizabeth reaches for the pendant around her spectral neck a shimmering amber shard hung on a cord of ethereal mist as her ghostly fingers as her ghostly fist curls around it her eyes flash a bright menacing amber, and the spectral dancers dissipate, swept away as if by an unseen wind elizabeth's apparition lingers but a moment longer before disappearing with the rest as it does, a sound resonates through the room, the low sound of scraping wood originating from the room across the hall the floor trembles faintly and you hear it crash from the mantelpiece two of the alabaster figurines have fallen from their place on the shelf one toppled over on its side and the other shattered across the floor
